I have been going through my mail and saw a link to this:

Wikis are useful things when it comes to collaborative stuff. It
allows people to give their insights and opinions. It is also a place
for discussion.

However, I think that when we are given tools like this to
communicate, we should not forget netiquette =) It has been mentioned
time and again on the mailing list and I am thankful for those people
who do that. Wikis are shared spaces and we have to try and see how
we could respect each other in such places.

Hence my grief over the post wherein one wrote something that sounds
like an attack on a specific group and an individual too. Many others
have already raised their points on the matter and I guess I would
just repeat what Chris, Marvin, Ariz, Paolo and Ian have already said.

As for nominating members who are in good standing:
I think that what Paolo is pointing out is that it would be wonderful
if the people who would become part of the board would really be
committed ones =)

As for visibility:
Let's see. On one hand it might be apparent that there are some people
who have more visibility than others. As Ariz pointed out there are
those who volunteer ferquently and so they are very visible. I know
that there are a lot of PLUG activities that are held in Manila but
there are people who even go here to participate =) Because the
meeting and seminar schedules are given in advance most of the time,
if they have a chance of going to Manila, sometimes they try to make
it possible to go here and do everything while they are here.
(Maximizing their time, taking every opportunity.) And I think that
it's not only the PLUG activities that count but also other things
that people do to participate in the FOSS community. If you volunteer
your time and effort, people will notice and know that. And if you
also have leadership skills that go with such a volunteer's heart, all
the more =)

I am thankful to Jijo because he's been hosting the mailing list, the
site and the archives - wherein I could search for things I need to
know. (Better search the archives first just in case the questions
have been asked before, right?^_^) And Marvin (one of the QSR guys)
has really been doing a lot of stuff.

Anyhow, let's all work together and see how we could all contribute
to the organization and the FOSS community in general.

Have a good day, everyone!
