and if you challenge their valuation as too high, of course they will stonewall because if they reduce it, that is tantamount to admitting they were up to no good. so unless you like fighting bureaucrats and possibly earning their enmity (and wasting lots of time) you would do good to avoid the post office in the first place.
there are lots of couriers such as Johnny Air and e2door who take care of the dirty work of bribing the bureaucrats.

Anyway, I tried to find ways then to remedy the situation, but found no
recourse. At least now, I am better prepared next time something like
this happens. Really appreciate your inputs.
