A note of clarification.  In general, all USB drives are recognized
by Linux as a SCSI drive.  So, assuming that you do not have any
other scsi drives in your system, your USB drive will be seen as
/dev/sda.  You can than run fdisk /dev/sda and partitiion it as needed.
