Subject: [plug] Mail Server Inaccessible within LAN

PROBLEM:
Our mail server is accessible to the WAN side (ports 80, 25, 110)
but not within the LAN side. For example, if I type the static IP in
my browser of my PC within the LAN, it will take me to the
administrative web page of the adsl modem; instead of forwarding
my connection to the mail server. If I go outside, say an internet cafe,
and type the same static IP, I will be taken to the mail server without
any problems. This is also true with telnetting ports 25 and 110.
Within the LAN I get 'connections refused'; while no problem from
the outside.
I just find this behavior weird. :(

your adsl modem have two interfaces.. the wan side and the lan side.. your port forwarding was binded to the wan side of the interface.. try to figure it out how to circumvent that by consulting your modem's manual...

fooler.
