hi Dean,
Hi Ariz! :)
i agree with you but i'm not referring to professional certifications, i was talking about the common criteria certifications such as Evaluation Assurance Level (EAL), Department of Defense (DoD) Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Common Operating Environment (COE) certification, etc. and as well as the ISV hardware/software certifications (those "guaranteed to work with this" thing, hehe).
Oh, okay. :) Now it's starting to make sense. :) [Links Snipped]
this certifications might help you decide on which to choose. and besides, if it is really "enterprise mission critical" you wouldn't _immediately_ rely on uncertified hardware/software (not known to work reliably / supported by the ISVs) and on those without "QA" certifications.
They definitely will. Thank you very much!
but we always love to gamble and take risks that we usually issue the statement "certified by me/myself & my 2 crossed-fingers" to our clients / superiors and it is good enough(?) to some.
I don't think I want to put my head on the chopping block for genuinely critical projects just yet... Better safe than sorry. :) Though of course, developing something from scratch is a big gamble, so yes I think I do like gambling too -- maybe with different stakes and in different areas. -- Dean Michael C.
