i think so? not sure though, but my boss specifically wants the newer versions. you can use the binary packages from the CEntOS PLUS Repo:

what will happen to the old version of php and mysql? do i need to uninstall it first before installing those binaries you mentioned? but with Apache HTTPd 2.2.x, you need to compile your own.
