I get the same thing on my laptop running the same graphics card. I'm using the ati binary fglrx drivers. I'm guessing since ati does not officially support the radeon express 200m anymore, it might be the culprit. There's actually an online petition to improve the driver for laptops that run on the 200m. anybody know how to file an "intermittent bug" report to ubuntu?

It's a laptop, it's not overclocked. The problem doesn't occur in Windows. The radeon xpress 200m card uses the default xorg drivers. The problem is that, the problem is intermittent. I can't seem to get a fix on what's causing the problem. _________________________________________________ Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List [email protected] (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Read the Guidelines: http://linux.org.ph/lists Searchable Archives: http://archives.free.net.ph
