With the advent of Unbundled Rates brought about by the EPIRA Law, Residential electricity consumers account for more line losses because they're at the "end of the line" so to speak. The lower the voltage, the greater the line loss. This is the reason Transco/NPC transmit electricity at 238,000Volts (to minimize line losses). There is system loss component on our electricity bills and residential consumers pay a higher premium for it, and this also affects the E-VAT for system losses. Despite the Power-Act Reduction of P0.30/kWh, residential consumers pay higher for power compared to the commercial consumers.
