Yes, last year I was using GYache Improved (http://gyachi.sourceforge.net/)
for YM chats on Kubuntu.  There's supposed to be voice support but I wasn't
able to make it work, so I use Skype for voice conversations.  The file
transfer was also unstable.  But the video works great and I loved the text
chat even better!  I can also see even those who are supposed to be
"invisible", hahahaha...  My lurker friends were often surprised :-)

I dunno about the latest versions though.  Must be better now!
