Our LGU is planning to conduct a one day Promote FOSS/Linux Day that will introduce FOSS and Linux to students within our municipality. It will be just a small event which hopefully will led to other similar activities in the future.
Registration is intended to be free as the LGU is willing to sponsor almost everything.. except for the meals and snacks. This is going to be my first time to organize such event. I shall therefore greatly appreciate any tips and pointers from those who have organized similar events. In as much as I wanted to invite outside speakers, hindi pa siguro ngayon. Any topics that you guys may suggest? What should I focus on? Or any gimiks? I'm looking at burn fests, demo PCs... we actually have an eCenter with Ubuntu Hardy installed on it. I hope and pray to hear from the list the soonest. Thanks!
