OK, so I'm not on dial-up, but I have a local ISP's service and I buy their lowest speed; I pay $15/mo to quest to lest 'someone else' provide ISP services, and they are Opusnet. My level gets me 56K up / 26K down.
I haven't had any problems; iirc I called tech support maybe once with a year and a half. But I am looking for faster service, and a Comcast guy gave me a sales pitch while I was shopping for something else at Best Buy. I don't watch TV and so I don't need any cable services. What does the PLUG community feel about Comcast? If I want higher speeds, who else should I look into who is Linux- and privacy- friendly?
