Pros:
  * download speeds are zippy
  * pretty good uptimes
  * comcast is making money, so your service provider won't go broke
  * IP addresses are fairly stable, even on "dynamic" accounts

My experience is that the network is solid. Downtimes usually come in 
bunches and are typically the result of Comcast shuffling IP 
addresses. I've had the same IP address at home for several months 
now.

Cons:
  * no choice for backend ISP
  * restrictive terms of service, esp. for inbound traffic
  * as comcast thrives, the provider market shrinks

Comcast wants you to be a bandwidth consumer, not a service provider. 
There are currently no blocks on, say, inbound ssh traffic, but 
Comcast's terms of service don't rule out such a block in the future.
