Marcin Wiacek prefers to name his versions as
gnokii-0.3.3_pre8_gold_yyyy_mm_dd
while Pavels group like to stick to the original gnokii-x.x.x file versions
I'm currently on 0.3.3_pre8_gold_2001_02_24. Have you tried compiling from
CVS?
Now have the Win apps for accessing CVS directly from Windows Explorer
(still have
to be acquainted with the Linux equivalent), but I can't seem to get past
the
"./configure" part. Still have to read on about autoconf. (Sigh...)

Despite the frustrations over CVS configurations for the gnokii, mygnokii
has
worked great in both Linux and Windoze environments. The current mygnokii
works
great with my 3210 and my father's 5110. Still have to wait for developments
with
the 8210 so that my sis could use it too with her phone.

PS: Roger that on the piano keyboard! Now if only Marcin would get it right
with the
"gnokii --playbinringtone ringtonefile" and "gnokii --playringtone
ringtonefile" with
the phone. It sounds lousy when you run the prog...

I'm using mygnokii now with my 6150, it works a lot better than gnokii
0.3.2; however the mygnokii I'm using is based on gnokii 0.3.3_pre8-gold.
They say this is more stable than current gnokii 0.3.3_preXX. If you are a
Smart subscriber, the version of mygnokii I'm using does not recognize Smart
yet, it is not part of the network choices.

If you are a smart subscriber maybe you should try the newer pre releases of
gnokii, unless there is a newer mygnokii with support for Smart.

PS: the mygnokii I have has this really cool piano keybord you can use to
play notes on your phone. when you click on a key it plays a note on your
phone. Right now that's all it can do - hindi pa yata tapos; you can't save
or compose or load anything yet.
