i've tried KDevelop; its like Visual Studio alright, except it doesn't shove
a buncha MACROs down your throat ehehehehe...
while we're on the topic, is there a counterpart for COM for linux? i know
there's CORBA on UNIX, but its kind of complicated and unwieldy... i
understand there's Lutris Enhydra, w/c is an app server for Ent. Java Beans
(EJB), but is there a similar product for C++ on linux? most of the
literature i've read so far does expound on great software development on
linux but i dont recall ever seeing anything about creating n-tier apps on
linux w/ C++ on a scale such as those of EJB or MTS.
also, i dont believe Sun has ever released J2EE on linux, only J2 Standard
Ed... w/c probably means that users of Enhydra develop their stuff on NT
workstations and just deploy on Enhydra on Linux after its all done... of
course, i could be mistaken...
just thinking out loud... =) i guess a linux developer forum would be a good
idea?
