To Orly Andico who suggested gnokii, and to Ian Perez who
suggested gnokii-smstools, THANK YOU very much!
Now I am using gnokii-0.3.2 (is there a later version?)
and am very satisfied with it.  I will probably use
"gnokii --sendsms" in shell scripts.

Now which network management software would you suggest?
Has anyone tried the CMU snmp package?
