Short answer:
Just get a good, solid FTP daemon (such as ProFTPd 1.2.x), install it on
your box, make sure you have more than 50MB free space on the hard disk,
and plug it into the Internet somehow... :)
Long answer:
You haven't stated the precise requirements of your system, i.e. what
characteristics your FTP site should have. To get a good answer to your
question specify the following things:
1. Who are the intended users of your FTP site? Is it going to be a
private repository, or a public repository?
2. In either case, will you want people to UPLOAD stuff into your system,
up to the limit of 50 megs you have specified? Or will it be strictly
download only?
3. What sort of traffic do you expect for your FTP repository?
Answers to these questions will give us a better idea of what you're
trying to do, and hence, what you need in order to do what you have to do.
