You might want to try emacs-mew, though I have to admit that I use pine
regularly. I think it may be because it was easy to migrate to pine after
using elm for a while. I tried mutt for a while too, but I find myself
just typing pine when I want to read my mail. It's become a habit. When I
get into a purely FS system setup, then maybe I can drop pine in favor of
mutt.
