Hi,
I am planning to install linux on IDE RAID(HP370 controller) and I want to
know what is the better setup.
Option 1.
IDE 1 = 1 x 40GB
IDE 2 = 1 x 40GB
Option 2.
IDE 1 = 2 x 20GB
IDE 2 = 2 X 20GB
I want RAID 0 setup and after performance boost although peace of mind is
eliminated on RAID 0 it is not my concern yet.
As of now I am more incline to use option OPTION 1 since OPTION 2 does not
really boost performance since it is an IDE channel. Is this correct? I
heard that the MTTF(MeanTime To Failure) drops the more hard disk you
install. Although RAID 0 is an all for one deal, lose one drive and kiss
all your data goodbye.
TIA,
Dan
