I've same experience as well. I've more or less come to trust Quantum
drives, whereas several others have told me of horror stories with
Quantum drives. Western Digital HDs are quite ok, as well, although
today I'm eyeing the IBM Deskstar 60GXP/75GXPs. :)
Longest drive I've had up and running without bad blacks yet is a
Quantum Maverick 540MB SCSI HD which has been running for roughly 6
years now.
