It is possible -- but you need to rethink groupings...

suggest that you create group1 where user1 belongs to, group2 where user2 
belongs to and group3 where user1 and user2 belongs to.

Folder1 should chgrp to group3, folder2 and 3 chgrp to group1 
Also by setting permissions to 774 it means that the user may not be able to 
access the files by doing an cd, but he may be able to see the filenames by 
doing an ls.  Anyway, just be careful.
