You want MS Office compatibility, you PAY for it in terms of memory
use.  SOffice is doing such a great job trying to be an MS workalike
why are we complaining?  Do you complain if Oracle takes up all of memory?
Powerpoint  is not really tiny either.

If you are really pressed for memory, you can always use KPresenter
(KDE Office).  You can't use the presentation with Powerpoint, though.

Is there a way of using just Star IMpress alone, without running
StarOffice?
