This is a very interesting point of view that I've honestly never taken.
But then perhaps it's because I don't really want a Microsoft workalike.
Instead I was hoping to find a decent desktop-style office suite as an
alternative to Microsoft. Not a workalike, and not necessarily 100%
compatible. I should learn TeX, hahaha. Unfortunately AbiWord and Gnumeric
don't seem to be ready for primetime just yet. I haven't tried KOffice.

Uhh, I don't use Oracle, Doc. I use PostgreSQL. It's Orly who uses Oracle.
Hehehe. ;>

True, true.

How usable would you rate KOffice? I've never tried it, and am wondering
if the "plunge" getting all those libraries will be worth it.

As far as I know to remove the "integration" bloat, you'll need to use
OpenOffice. I think Cito Maramba has tried OpenOffice. I have yet to check
out the latest snapshot. Maybe after Linux10. For more information,
