I agree. As much as some of the members would like to
help...but some of us have geographical
limitations...hehehee...nasa mental kse ako..hehee
Btw, I just have some issues with this project....
what is it's main goal? Are we planning to win the
desktop or the server? If both then my suggestion
here would be to
concentrate first on the desktop..provide the users
better alternatives than M$ office....let's have a
unified approach...if we want to use staroffice then
let that be the standard....if we don't do this M$
will win because most documents are using their
format....then after winning
the desktop users...working our way up to the server
side would be a breeze....it's gonna be a walk in the
park for the linux community. ika nga...start
small(meaning client side first) then think big.
I urge the group to start hitting on M$ users first...
kung balak din na pati sun/unix users eh
maapektuhan...
medyo hindi practical yun kse if I have an existing
sun set-up...with
veritas clustering/or sun cluster definitely it's
better to keep it that way and just configure it to
work and serve linux desktop clients rather than
making this a linux server. We'll end up with support
issues again. Well, i'm just thinking of easing the
migration headaches for current sun or other
commercial unix users. For clients which doesn't have
unix set-up then by all means replace those with linux
server and desktop. Unix I believe is linux's
friend...let's work with unix to
win against M$ monopoly. Then, makakatipid na rin si
Pres. GMA diba.
Soc =)
