Someone gave them answers. It would make sense
that they would at least help by summarizing
the answers instead of multiple answers to a
problem.

Looking at the Sun Managers list, questions
does not dominate the list, but answers as well.

That would be exactly solved if the askers
summarize the answers. In the Sun managers list,
the poster would also show the best answer.

Yes, it's a discussion list alright. What
can be done to cut the noise-to-signal ratio
is if the poster asking the question can say
in his e-mail that he will summarize the
answers. Discussion list would still be the
same, but the posters asking the question can
optionally summarize the answers.

Nope. as mentioned above, to cut noise-to-
signal ratio, thus quality post of answers
and questions abound.
