You can install modules to make it vi-like, but... like... umm... why? ;)

M-x apropos RET RET is generally _not_ a good idea. ;)

apropos in Emacs does what apropos does on the command-line, 'cept it
deals with all Emacs variables, functions, and options. This will take a while.
Better idea: M-x apropos RET keyword RET, for example:
M-x apropos RET help RET to get all the help functions/variables/commands.

Usually more helpful is C-h a (or M-x command-apropos).

C-h t gets you a really nice tutorial.
