I have some questions in mind, that are not original but which I personally find worth finding answers to: 1. How many potential users do we think are out there that will benefit from a forum on a "free desktop" system based on GNU/Linux or some other free operating system? 2. Will anyone by willing to "man" it, like we have oldbies "manning" the PH-Linux-Newbie list? 3. Will an email-based system be a proper venue? Or will the people in (1) be more inclined towards using a web-based discussion board? 4. Should this list/forum be limited to GNU/Linux? Or should it focus on the more general topic of a free-software-based desktop environment? If the answers to the above questions are favorable, I will be willing to host a mailing list. [EMAIL PROTECTED] sounds pretty neat to me. It will be backed by searchable archives at marc.free.net.ph, and perhaps a subsection of the existing plone-based free.net.ph site if anyone is willing to take care of administrating that area and joining me in my quest to learn more about plone.
