Oh yes... Not even if it's running Linux, even if it's running UNICOS or whatever native OS it uses. Give it a little more time and eventually the fork bomb will grind even those machines to a halt. Even if it's a lot more than what we usually see, a Cray supercomputer still has a finite amount of memory and computing resources. The growth of resource consumption for a fork bomb is exponentially unbounded, so if you run it for long enough, it can eventually kill anything provided no limits (or unreasonably high limits) are imposed on the resources it can consume.
