None of my students who were in the contest remembered the formula, which you call "easy". And in the frenzy and time pressure that prevailed during the contest, they failed to derive (from elementary principles), the magic formula that you so "easily" produced. And my students were the best Filipino team in that contest, solving as many problems as the Rank #1 team from Tokyo (Tokodai). If that formula were "easy" how come more than 50 x 3 of the countries most talented Filipino college programmers did not get it? > ... you havent wondered why i use fooler here instead > of my real name? because i want to stay as anonymous as > possible... Actually, I am not wondering why you use FOOLER in this mailing list, while almost everyone else use their real names. I am not wondering -- I am irritated by it this practice of hiding behind an alyas, while everyone else has the courage to say who he is. But that is your right. You can go on and continue to hide behind FOOLER, and no one will stop you. BTW, the name Horatio Bogbindero is an exemption, since everyone knows that Bogbindero is William Yu, and if you did not know that, then now you know! > i find my old geometry and trigonometry books to find the > right theorems and identities for this because im already > too *RUSTY* with my math skills and there you are i solve it... The lengthy email that accompanied the problem set stated that the contestants can bring a reasonable amount of notes and books to the contest. In your case, you had all the books at home at your disposal, and the Internet. If you were in the contest you do not have that luxury, nor will the contest organizers allow you to do that, because that is cheating!
