I'm having conflicting reports on this one. I tried looking up the specifications on the SpeedStream (made by Efficient Networks) and try to see its difference with the SpeedTouch (made by Alcatel). Unfortunately, since these modems are softmodems, they rely heavily on the firmware/microcode loaded onto them, so it isn't just a simple matter of swapping one in/out and expecting any two units to be identically the same. Unfortunately, Efficient Networks no longer manufacturers these modems. *Grumble*

There are drivers out there for the Alcatel SpeedTouch USB. The SpeedStream 4060 is actually made by Alcatel.

I have setup the SpeedTouch in RedHat 7.1 and gotten it to successfully work on my home network.

And with that, here's a link to Alcatel SpeedTouch, though I haven't tried it yet.
