With the work ASTI is doing on Bayanihan Linux and M$ squeezing the the
public through their anti-piracy measures, it makes sense for public
schools to use an alternative such as Linux. I believe that's where the
prople from the "barong-barong sa tabi-tabi" who would use Linux would
be coming from. Most schools only use it to teach how to use a word
processor and a spread sheet program, and little to no programming
lessons, so why not use an open source alternative like OpenOffice.org
running on Linux and teach concepts regarding using such tools and not
teaching on how to use an application.
