BTW, does it add to the crapiness if the WinXP is a pirated one?  Is this a factor in 
stability?  Can pirated WinXP's be upgraded/updated?

Is there a way to verify if components of a pirated WinXP are more or less the same as 
the original?  Perhaps an MD5SUM tool used by XP?

This is OT but I would like to know.
