Let me just clarify one more thing about this
'zealotry' issue:

Setting an example: 2 people arguing about faith.
let's say, you, being a catholic - it's a religion,
you have faith that there exist your maker, whom
you call as 'God'.
Then you have an adversary, an Atheist, who dont
believe any of these god crap.
Put yourself in place on that man with a religion,
then the other way around. Look and feel each one's
ideals, do you sense a zeal in there?
Are you willing to submit to the atheist telling you
that there is no god? Or if you were the atheist, would
you listen to the man telling you there is a god?
Then by definition of a zealot, the two are incapable
to listen to the idea of the other. Therefor both of
them are zealots. Are you one of the either?

For all I know, thats the way most Linux zealots feel
about the OtherOSvsLinux issue. It isnt just some
fanboy-bandwagon-like hitching, Or some college
crackerzboyz spewing fud stench all over the place.
These zealot people are also *thinking people. Most
of these zealed users/programmers, know the strength
and weaknesses of each ones turf. At least on my part,
I could see the moral issues that are involved that
led me to choose Linux. Sure, there are *some good
programs in the windows armory only available for their
platform, then comes the zeal from the other side who
kept pushing/demanding to outmatch the program, making
it available for their own.

Dont just tell anyone not to be a zealot, becaues
if everything is neutral and everyone is 'openminded'
to an issue, then we will all be in 'limbo'. The world
will be in a 'stand still', no development in Linux
camp, no development in the MS camp, 'stalemate'. Even
mathematical equations could prove that phenomenon.

Zak was right about zealots being like a frontliners in
a battle. The zealots do the 'dirty job' on each others
side, apart from the people that look like tennis
spectators, with nothing else to do but to hold their
chin, nodding, analyzing, and making every comments about
the match. Then jump like schoolgirls towards the victorious
player who wins the match.

There are other people who call themselves as zealots
but on a *wrong cause. I'ts like the old hacker/crackerz
misconception. Real zealots who plague the MLs/NGs,
whether that be from Microsofts or Linuxs are armed with
explanations and facts, and not just spread FUD's and
rediculos lies, like most MS zealot's I know do. These
are the one's who give linux a bad name. And I think
these are the one's you're refering to, on all these
threads.

I dont believe that the Linux zealots who just merely
spread real facts about their operating system, would
bring Linux down. The linux zealots are even outnumbered
by these 'paid' Microsoft militants expertly trained to
spread FUD's. ex. A linux 'newbie' ask for help about
his/her setup on a forum, then this MS wintroll pretending
to be an expertise in computing, suggested the ease and
brilliance of MS products, discouraging the linux newbie!
Just emmerse yourself a while in the usenet Linux-assistance
ng's or just about any channel, and you'll see what I mean.
Just dont go to the advocacy groups, you might stagger.

Ask a 'real' linux zealot and he will present you with true
facts about Linux. Of course being a zealot he/she don't
need to tell you about micros~1/os2. Imagine advertising your
product and at the same time your opponents product? that
would be laughable. Linux zealot's, and I mean 'real' linux
zealots: Look for them, track down this people; armed with
zeal, some of these zealots are the ones perfecting the
programs youre using right now (if you're using linux),
some are the ones writing your HOWTO's. (You read and
believe their howto's and at the same time dont agree
their zeal on the matters?), or some are simple linux
enthusiasts.

Until MS do not submit to the morals and fairness on
the OS battlefield, then there would always be zealots,
and I mean 'real' zealots, like militants/guerillas
spread all over those jungles:)
It's like in StarWars, there are drones of the darkside
versus the rebels on the other side, of course there
are zealots there, in a roguelike charachters, they would
be the solitary, warriors, rangers, barbarians, valkyries,
theif, etc.. pick anything you want :) Of course there
are the 'monk-like' elders/priests who represents the
arbiters and wise-asses, but they're usually rare and ugly,
and could only be found in the woods. So, which one are you?
LOL, Im way out here... to much mud :P

Peace,
