I use a 233Mhz P about 64megs.  I installed
rh7.3 on it with lesstif or openmotif and as
a window manager it runs fine.  for heavy stuff
like netscape/mozilla i tend to run it on 
a bigger server and display them locally.

I suggest also consider turning these into
X-window terminals isntead (think X -query bighost)
then you can run any wm you want (if your
bighost is big enough).  your specs is overkill
for such a client configuration.

The same config above also can do kde or gnome
IF kde or gnome ran on my remote bigger server.

well its not  a distro suggestion but i'm
just putting out more ideas....
