As a result, with true threads it is easy to ignore a sub-thread that has drifted off topic, while paying attention to the larger thread that still interests you. Any decent threaded MUA allows you to choose to collapse or expand all threads by default. Any decent threaded MUA allows to you collapse any node in a thread. If space efficiency is what you crave, a decent MUA can be just as efficient and more than gmail. BTW, this is also why old schools list subscribers get annoyed when newbies hijack a thread. What is thread-jacking you ask? It's when you click reply-to, change the subject to something unrelated, and delete the entire body of the original message. Don't do that. OBTW, thread-jacking is different from updating the subject line to reflect that a sub-thread has drifted away from the original topic. Updating the subject line is a Good Thing(TM). /* PLUG: http://plug.org, #utah on irc.freenode.net Unsubscribe: http://plug.org/mailman/options/plug Don't fear the penguin. */
