Have you considered that this might be a good time for you to apologize
and drop the subject?  I think you were out of line to begin with,
assigning guilt without any more evidence than news reports, and now
you're just being crass and insensitive.

Consider your public service announcement, warning everyone to be
careful when driving around children, to be made.  I don't know what
more you hope to accomplish aside from winning 'argument points' or
something.
