no, normally if the shairtunes_helper-win.exe is authorized as an application in the firewall, it should work. One thing you could do for me that I'd appreciate a lot is to run some tests with that version. You must set "use flac for streaming" in the plugin's settings (I guess you know where: LMS settings, advanced, Shairtunes2W) and do extended listening (long and a few skips) that would tell me if the flac compile on Windows worked fine. You might experience some drop offs, there is still and unexplained other problem that I've never been able to figure out.
