short list: 1. very stable 2. will play some of the new https:// internet radio stations and podcasts that wouldn't work for me under 7.8. (and many internet streamers are moving to https:// instead of http://) 3. Lots of changes happening if one wants to continue playing Spotify. Based on comments I've seen, I suspect these changes are mostly being made to 7.9 version. So you might miss out on those needed changes. 4. Way faster on scanning for music. 5. More setup to work independent of mysqueezebox.com (when that day comes). Including internet radio and podcast stuff. I waited a long time to move to 7.9, but I'm glad I did, it was easy and stable, and it solved a couple of nagging problems I'd had for a while. *Home:* VortexBox 4TB (2.3) > LMS 7.9 > Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio (all ethernet) *Cottage:* VBA 3TB (2.3) > LMS 7.9 > Touch > Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio) *Office:* Win8(64) > LMS 7.9 > Squeezelite *Spares:* Transporter, Touch(3), Radio(3), Boom, SB3, CONTROLLER *Controllers:* iPhone6 & iPadAir2 (iPeng & Squeezepad), CONTROLLER, or SqueezePlay 7.8 on Win8(64) laptop *Files:* ripping: dbpoweramp > FLAC; post-rip: mp3tag, PerfectTunes; Streaming: Spotify ------------------------------------------------------------------------ garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53229 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
