Do you use a Fritz!Box? Probably an older model? It's a know issue with some routers: they stall long-running http streams without notifying the client, you will see issues with other long-running streams like internet radio as well. Websocket clients like facebook are also affected but you usually don't keep those open long enough on a mobile device for it to matter. I've tried different kinds of heartbeats to fix this but it's not easy.
