Ah. Thanks @ralphy. Very interesting and very helpful. But I guess I'll stick with my ASIO driver, as I use the Qobuz plugin to regularly stream Hi-Res up to 24/192. One may also occasionally encounter MQA albums on Qobuz (apparently because those are the only versions of those albums available, which is sad); they can stream in 24/48 and be decoded in whatever form of Hi-Res is in that MQA track if your DAC is compatible.
