My notes say that the DSP/Crossover just adds L + R to get the mono mix. Your patch seems to set L = R = (L + R) / 2. So the DSP/Crossover will then add (L + R) / 2 + (L + R) / 2, yielding the same final mono mix... assuming my head is screwed on correctly.
