Update: I kind of gave up. The Pi running LMS was old anyway so I went down to the store and got myself a Pi 3+. Came with a NOOB SD card so it was up and running in a short time. Installed a brand new LMS, got nfs up and running to be able to connect to my old NAS, got Jivelite up and running. Then I redirected the players to the new IP-address of the new server and verified that they played local music. Once all of that was done, it took me less than five minutes to enable Spotty, confirm it in my Windows Spotify app and play some music. Being a 3+ it is not dependent on the legacy helper, and I think this is the main difference between my systems. But I'm fine and will not spend more time in trying to understand what went wrong.
