Hope someone can help. I am in a location in India where my only possible way of connecting to the Internet is via mobile phone. The connection speed is equivalent to dial-up, i.e. 56k. I can listen to BBC Listen Again via the browser, but not with AlienBBC via my Slimserver through Squeezebox 3. It cuts out after a few seconds, comes back after one seconds, cuts out and so on.
My assumption is that when listening through the browser, the BBC software adjusts the bitrate making listening possible, but that AlienBBC does not adjust the bitrate, i.e. the original "high" quality signal is passed on to Squeezebox, which is too high for my connection to handle.
