> mplayer.bat- file in the Slimserver
directory. BBC World Service plays well (20.7 kbit). This channel also
plays well through Slimserver and Squeezebox.

The other channels in -Test mplayer.bat- play for a few seconds (64.1
kbit) where after play starts to stutter, i.e. exactly what happens
when played through Slimserver and Squeezebox.

I am aware that I could increase the buffer, but wouldn't that simply
postpone the problem? So, when the buffer is drained I will be back to
square one?

The problem as I see it is that the software doesn't automatically
adjust the bit rate, which is what the BBC iPlayer does, making
listening through the browser possible.

Have I understood this correctly: there is no way to get the software
to adjust the bit rate automatically or manually?
