I did suggest as much to the PlusNet support technician but did not get
too far.

It sounds *better*.... well at least there are no continual drop outs.
However there does seem to be some inherent low-level distortion to the
sound. Not too sure if this is always the case with wma streams of this
bit rate or if it is due to packet loss.

Normally we'd use the BBC real audio radio player at work (just as it
comes on the BBC web site).

Interesting this today though. I am currently at work on the Nildram
feed attempting to listen to Big Bang day (if the world's going to end
I'd like to know about it). The BBC real audio player is entirely
unlistenable. There are more drop outs than stream. However, the wma
stream is absolutely fine.
I guess lots of people want to know if the world's going to end.

It would only take a disgruntled PlusNet technician or some clever
geeza to prove that they were using bandwidth shaping though... and if
it was publicised that they were restricting the BBC content they'd
loose a lot of business (not to mention their reputation), so I tend to
think this is unlikely.
