IT TAKES AN HOUR???? puh. Judging from the performance with my test library, which has around 3.000 albums and takes 2 min to load on a 1 GHz Via C7 server ReadyNAS seems to have really a hard time to provide this data. Even if sorting does demand time on an incremental scale in iPeng 1.0.4 (will be better in the next release, but I tried to be conservative), I would not expect it to need more than 5 min to process the 4.000 albums so I would attribute the rest of the time on the ReadyNAS. Does it get better (don't try, just in case you already did) if you build the iPeng cache a second time WITHOUT doing a full rescan of the database? iPeng will also cache a few 100 artwork thumbnails after reading the database. Ans while this works completely in the background for iPeng (so it doesn't slow it down), the server will have to build those thumbnails, since they have a different size than the ones SC uses by default. If this is part of the problem, I could add an option to use other thumbnail formats in the next iPeng release. -- pippin --- see iPeng at penguinlovesmusic.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------ pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
