Well it do sort the tracks by albums, disc, tracknum in my own library
when I create a new menu based on the Mixed Tags. You could try to hit
the "Refresh" link at the bottom of the Custom Browse page, that should
make sure you have an up to date configuration. I think it was only
sorted by tracknum in a previous release, so if you still have that
configuration that might be causing the problems.

If you have specified a "Browse templates directory" in the Custom
Browse settings page, you might want to make sure that there isn't an
old version of the mixedtag menu template there. This shouldn't cause
any problems as long as it is older than the version distributed with
the plugin, but there might be some bug...

I suspected alphabetical sorting wouldn't be good enough. I still feel
that a separate GROUPINGSORT tag is the correct way to go since it
makes it more flexible but I can understand that you don't want to add
extra tags if the information to do the work already is available.

Wouldn't this give you incorrect result if you have a multiple disc
album where a GROUPING is split into two discs ?

There is currently no way for Custom Browse to know if a custom tag is
a numeric value or a letter value, due to this it always sort
alphabetically. As long as you use xxxSORT tags to do the sorting this
should be fine because then you can make sure the xxxSORT tags contain
the necessary extra zeros.

It should be done in Custom Scan during scanning if it should be done.
However, at the moment my personal feeling is that this is a very
special case which I would prefer not to handle. It's better to wait
and see what the new schema planned for SqueezeCenter 8.0 will offer.

The next version of the "Mixed Tags" template will do this if you have
selected "Album" in the "Level 1 tag type" option. It's available
through the download links in the Custom Browse settings pages already
now.
