You could try to hit the "Refresh" link at the bottom of the Custom Browse page, that should make sure you have an up to date configuration. I think it was only sorted by tracknum in a previous release, so if you still have that configuration that might be causing the problems.
If you have specified a "Browse templates directory" in the Custom Browse settings page, you might want to make sure that there isn't an old version of the mixedtag menu template there.
