I am a new owner of a Duet. I have iTunes (mp3 mostly) running on my Mac, but my music library (FLAC mostly) and SqueezeCenter lives on a linux box.
I exported the iTunes Library, and saved it on the linux box. I then told custom scan to read that Library.xml file. It took a while and I did not receive any errors, but it did not seem to do anything. At least it did not update the rating of any of the songs. Is this not the right way to do this? Did I miss a step? Also, some of the songs on my Linux box are mp3 instead of FLAC. What do I need to put in "File extension in SlimServer" so it maps mp3->FLAC and mp3->mp3? If I just have ".flac" in there, will it do the right thing if the SqueezeCenter track is actually a mp3?
