I tested Squeezecenter on my NAS (DNS-323) for a couple of months before buying a Squeezebox Boom.
Once you have installed squeezecenter on your NAS then install 'Softsqueeze' which is a java emulator of the squeezebox devices. I have found that the performance of the actual hardware to be alot better than the 'softsqueeze' emulator that I installed on my laptop to test the capabilities of my NAS. I have found that using the web interface of Squeezecenter is slow (due to only 64mb ram on the NAS)....but there are no problems when using my device (Boom). I have also tested syncing my boom with softsqueeze and sending 2 separate streams and the NAS appears to cope well. Good luck! -- namxnam ------------------------------------------------------------------------ namxnam's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=25952 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=62215 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
