Erland,
I have set up CustomScan to read the ORIGYEAR tag (in flac files). Is
there any way to have that custom tag to overwrite the data already in
the SBS database for YEAR if and only if ORIGYEAR exists or to merge the
custom ORIGYEAR data and SBS YEAR data into a third tag which I can use
in CustomBrowse (so that the YEAR data is overwritten by the ORIGYEAR
data when there is ORIGYEAR data for a file)? Or is there a way to use
CustomScan to
* read TYER and TORY tags (in MP3 files) and have the TORY data take
precedence if both exists in a file
and
* read DATE and ORIGYEAR tags (in flac files) and have the ORIGYEAR
data take precedence if both exists in a file
and then
* combine it all into a custom tag ("Trackyear") in SBS that can by
used by CustomBrowse?
Is there a way to use CustomScan to read both DATE tags (in flac files)
and TYER tags (in MP3 files) and combine them into one custom tag
("Albumyear") in SBS that can by used by CustomBrowse?
What I try to accomplish is two CustomBrowse menus Albumyear (with a
year list that will take you to the albums released a particular year)
and Trackyear (with a year list that will take you to the albums
containing songs released a particular year and then further down to
those songs). I guess that combining those two menus into one (with a
year list that will for a particular year show all albums released that
year as well as all albums containing songs released that year), which
would be ideal for me, would require some kind of programming.
I know, and respect, that you are currently not developing your plugins
so do not hesitate to inform me that what I aim for requires
development, which I think I cannot manage, and not mere user support.
Any help or hint you can provide would be greatly appreciated though. I
do not even understand how to use the Tag Mapping option in CustomScan
(is it perhaps only for ID3 tags as the text on the settings page and in
the Wiki suggest?).
