I am really struggling to keep Inguz DRC running on Mac OS as the Squeezebox server structure evolves. Installation of Inguz on Mac OS requires breaking into a prefpane package that (at least in my system) seems plagued by permissions issues. I've spent many hours trying to keep this plugin running on an Intel iMac that was purchased for its power, stability, and simplicity.
I'm thinking that my best bet to keep Inguz DRC running going forward is to shift to a Windows based SBS setup. For me that could mean the following: 1. Install a VM and Windows on my iMac and have Windows exclusively devoted to running SBS and Inguz. 2. Buy a new energy efficient Windows box to run SBS and Inguz. Concerns/questions: Is the VM option on the iMac just going to threaten the stability of the Mac OS system I use for routine tasks? Is Windows 7 my best bet for the VM or the new machine? If so which version? How much processing power would you guys recommend for an energy efficientnew machine? The new Dell Zino HD looks like an interesting option - I could attach it via HDMI to my home theater and maintain the machine as necessary from there. Thoughts? Advice? I've learned so much from people here. Sorry to ramble, but what are you all thinking about the future of Inguz DRC?
